Today was a quieter day, poking through Xi'an's drum and bell towers, and wandering a little deeper into the Muslim Quarter.
First the Bell Tower from the Drum Tower:
And next the Bell Tower from the Drum Tower:
All in the midst of a very modern and busy city centre.
It was raining most of the day, and one thing we noticed was how colourful the umbrellas are here - we had trouble spotting a single black one.
We wandered away from the very tourist centric street in the Muslim Quarter to the very food centric part. All sorts of fantastic foods. And many variations of coal fired cooking apparatus.
Which will give you a very hot wok.
Lots of dried fruits:
And then there was the watermelon trike:
And a beautiful calligraphy demonstration.
We only sampled a small fraction of the food that was available, but everything we had was wonderful. A really nice way to spend the day.
